Summary
Putt Putt Regatta. The big event of the day! The flotilla of putt putts led by the NSW Maritime Vessel will move along the waterway in front of the gathered spectators and at 11.15am it will continue around Brisbane Water with the first boats arriving back at approximately 12.30pm.
The structure of the Davistown Putt Putt Regatta & Wooden Boat Festival evolves between Putt Putt enthusiasts (from which the Coordinator has always been drawn) together with the support and man power on the day provided with the assistance of Kincumber Rotary. Offers of assistance have been received and carried out by others, not limited to, but including, Coastal Patrol, SES, Rural Fire Brigade, Volunteer Fire Brigade and St John s Ambulance.
Every year about 10,000 people get together to see this yearly display of putt putt boats. Greg went along and interviewed a few of the boat owners to find out what makes them tick and why they do it.
