Ourimbah is a small town, with a rich history, that is today more famous for being home to the Central Coast campus of the University of Newcastle.
History
The name Ourimbah is believed to be made from two Aboriginal words used by them to describe a ceremony of manhood, carried out at various sites around the area. First settled in the early 1800's, it was famous for its tall timbers and blue gums.
